Nexus People is hiring on behalf of our client for an experienced and highly skilled General Insurance Manager.

We are looking for a results-driven insurance professional with approximately 10 years of experience in underwriting, policy administration, and claims management across multiple General Insurance lines.

This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a proven track record in improving operational efficiency, underwriting performance, and client service delivery.

 

🔹 Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing underwriting operations, managing insurance portfolios, leading a technical team, and ensuring compliance with UAE insurance regulations.

You will play a key role in driving profitability, improving turnaround time, and strengthening insurer and client relationships.

 

🔹 Key Responsibilities

Underwriting & Technical Oversight

• Review complex risks and validate underwriting submissions
  • Provide technical expertise across Property, Liability, Engineering, Marine, Motor Fleet & SME lines
  • Monitor portfolio performance, loss ratios, and renewal quality

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and mentor underwriting and operations teams
  • Conduct training on underwriting guidelines, insurer portals, and compliance standards
  • Ensure quality control of quotations, proposals, and policy documents

Insurer & Client Relationship Management

• Negotiate terms, premiums, and coverage conditions with insurers
  • Support sales teams in client meetings and renewal negotiations
  • Handle escalations and resolve complex policy issues

Operational & Compliance Management

• Oversee policy issuance, endorsements, cancellations, and refunds
  • Ensure full compliance with UAE insurance regulations and CBUAE requirements
  • Maintain KYC, proposal, and documentation accuracy

Business Growth & Strategy

• Support sales teams in preparing competitive insurance proposals
  • Monitor market trends and insurer updates
  • Drive cross-selling and upselling opportunities

 

🔹 Requirements

✔ Approximately 10 years of experience in General Insurance
✔ Minimum 4–5 years UAE insurance broker experience (mandatory)
✔ At least 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role
✔ Strong knowledge of Property, Liability, Engineering, Marine, Motor & SME lines
✔ Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
✔ Excellent communication and leadership abilities
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Insurance (preferred)
✔ CII or similar certifications are an advantage
✔ Experience with insurer portals and policy systems
