Job Purpose
The Diaphragm Seal Filling Station Operator / Technician is responsible for the assembly, vacuum filling, testing, calibration support, and quality inspection of diaphragm seal systems used with pressure transmitters, pressure gauges, pressure switches, and other process instrumentation. The role supports instrumentation, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), calibration, and diaphragm seal service activities.
Key Responsibilities
Diaphragm Seal Assembly & Filling
- Assemble diaphragm seal systems, capillaries, manifolds, and pressure instruments as per engineering specifications.
- Operate vacuum filling stations for filling diaphragm seals with appropriate fill fluids.
- Perform vacuum evacuation and filling procedures to eliminate air bubbles and ensure measurement accuracy.
- Select and handle various fill fluids based on process and temperature requirements.
- Prepare remote seal assemblies for pressure transmitters and gauges.
Testing & Quality Control
- Conduct leak testing, pressure testing, and visual inspection of completed assemblies.
- Verify assembly dimensions, capillary lengths, fill fluid quantities, and material specifications.
- Support calibration and functional testing of pressure instruments after filling.
- Assist in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities for instrumentation packages.
- Maintain quality records, test reports, and assembly documentation.
Workshop Operations
- Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of the diaphragm seal filling station and associated tools.
- Monitor inventory of fill fluids, seals, capillaries, fittings, and consumables.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or quality concerns.
- Follow workshop safety procedures and HSE requirements at all times.
Documentation
- Maintain assembly records and traceability documentation.
- Prepare test reports, filling records, and inspection checklists.
- Support QA/QC documentation requirements for client projects.
Qualifications
- Diploma or ITI in Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Additional training in instrumentation calibration or pressure measurement systems is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in instrumentation workshop activities, calibration, pressure transmitters, or diaphragm seal systems.
- Experience with pressure transmitters, pressure gauges, and instrumentation assembly is preferred.
- Experience operating vacuum filling equipment will be an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of pressure measurement principles.
- Understanding of diaphragm seals, capillaries, and fill fluids.
- Familiarity with pressure transmitters and pressure gauges.
- Ability to read P&IDs, datasheets, and engineering drawings.
- Basic calibration and testing knowledge.
- Familiarity with instrumentation workshop practices and FAT activities.

Working Conditions
- Workshop-based role within a Valve Automation and Instrumentation Center.
- Occasional support for site activities, FAT witnessing, and customer inspections.

Compensation
AED 4,000 – AED 7,000 per month (depending on qualifications, technical expertise, and relevant experience)
